A day in NYC

If I were to design a day in NYC, it would go like this.

  1. Get a latte and pastry at Butler. Spend an hour sitting there.
  2. Get a breakfast sandwich at Bread and Spread
  3. Walk around Brooklyn Bridge Park.
  4. Play pickleball, ping pong, frisbee, or catch at Pier 2. The lockers have free equipment you can borrow.
  5. Take the train to Prospect Park. Citibike around the park.
  6. Get dinner at One More Charm.

Another great day could look like this.

  1. Get an ube eclair at Supermoon Bakehouse
  2. Go shopping in Soho. Make sure to stop by Aritzia on broadway for a free latte.
  3. Get dinner at C as in Charlie.
  4. Go for drinks at Take 31.

Or, maybe like this.

  1. Catch the US Open day session in Flushing.
  2. Eat hotpot at Chongqing Lao Zao.
  3. Get milk tea at I’Milky.
  4. Sing for 2 hours at The Real KTV.

In the summer of 2022, I spent every other weekend like this.

  1. Wake up. Walk to Wegmans. Grab a latte.
  2. Bike to Williamsburg.
  3. Walk around, maybe hit up a store or restaurant I saw on TikTok.
  4. Bike back.

More and more over the last 2 years, a nice day to me sounded a lot simpler, more like: grab a latte, take a walk in Fort Greene Park, and catch up on some TV show. I have this theory that I don’t actually want to live here anymore, that I could get what I want out of the city by visiting a couple times a year, instead of living here. Everyone who knows me knows I hate indecision, so I decided to see what can be rather than ponder what could be.
